Brisbane City Council Ecological Services – mapping significant natural assets of the Chermside Hills Reserve

Chermside Hills Reserve is a major urban conservation reserve in the northern suburbs of Brisbane. Psp Ecological Consulting was engaged by Brisbane City Council to accurately map significant natural assets within the reserve to facilitate their protection and management, particularly with respect to prescribed and unplanned fires and other disturbances such as weed control, access track maintenance or the construction of infrastructure. The focus of the mapping was hollow-bearing trees, a key element of fauna habitats throughout Australia, and significant plant species (ie threatened species or those with locally or regionally isolated populations).

Key elements of the project included:

Kangaroo Grass (Themeda triandra)
